Clermont is located approximately 3 hours west of Mackay and 4 hours north-west of Rockhampton and is the most western point of the Isaac Regional Council, which stretches over 58,000 square kilometres through Moranbah and Nebo to St Lawrence on the Coast.
Clermont services two important Queensland industries in mining and agriculture.
Clermont is strategically placed in the middle of the Bowen and Galilee Basin mining developments.
Clermont's beef and cropping industries are major contributors to Australia's food production network and an international industry in it's own right. The Clermont Sale Yards sees an average annual turnover in excess of 90,000 head. Mt McLaren grain depot holds up to 230,000 with direct rail access for transport.
Clermont houses a diverse range of retail, accommodation and catering suppliers and specialist industry services. Providers supply on a local and regional basis to both the mining and agricultural industries.
Growth and opportunity exist within each of these markets, as Clermont's resident population increases and the tourism industry continues to grow.
